About
Terry Nguyen graduated from Rowan University with summa cum laude double majors in Biomedical Art and Visualization and Studio Art with a specialization in Graphic Design. During her undergraduate years, she also concurrently completed her B.A. in Music (classical piano) and concentration in pre-medicine. After graduating, she decided to further study traditional art at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and eventually received her Masters in Medical and Biological Illustration at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Her interest in the cross-section of creative arts and science was sparked at a young age by flipping through pharmaceutical and healthcare magazines that her parents received. She was fascinated by the visual elements, relying on them to understand the potential narrative and extend “storytime” with her parents. This childhood experience sparked her passion for scientific/medical art and eventually served as a catalyst for her interest in medicine, creative arts, and communication.
